The scent of old paper and worn leather filled Mr. Henderson’s small study, a comforting aroma that always made Leo feel a little closer to the sky. Sunlight, thick with dust motes dancing like tiny, unburdened spirits, streamed through the window, illuminating stacks of books that spoke of distant lands and daring adventures.
