Untamed Power Awakens

The air in our small apartment, usually thick with the comforting scent of Nobara’s experimental cooking and Yuji’s perpetually brewing tea, crackled with something new. Something electric, something that made the hairs on my arms stand on end. It had started subtly, a hum beneath the surface of my everyday existence, a feeling that the world was a little too loud, a little too bright, and I was somehow seeing it all at once. But today, it was different.

“David, honey, are you alright?” Mom’s voice, usually so steady and warm, held a tremor of concern. She was standing by the kitchen counter, her usual vibrant energy dimmed, her eyes wide as she looked at me. Dad, who had been calmly reading a newspaper at the small dining table, lowered it slowly, his gaze sharp and assessing.

I tried to answer, to tell them I was fine, just a little… buzzed. But the words caught in my throat.
