The mountain air, once vibrant with life, now felt heavy, suffocating.

He stood at the edge of his ancestral territory, the jagged peaks of the Appalachians a familiar, comforting silhouette against the bruised twilight sky. Beyond them lay a realm unknown, a landscape whispered about in hushed tones by the elders, a place where the veil between worlds thinned and ancient powers stirred. Lyra, her eyes like pools of starlight reflecting forgotten ages, had spoken of a hidden path, a treacherous route that led to the heart of the blight’s origin. It was a journey that tested not only the strength of one’s limbs but the resilience of one’s spirit.

“You cannot linger here, Ubbe,” Lyra’s voice, a low murmur like pebbles smoothed by a river’s current, echoed in his mind. “The blight is a venom, and it spreads with the arrogance of the uncaring. It will consume all if you do not find its source.”
