Chapter 11
Bright Spots and Quiet Questions
Alex, Maria, and Sam spend a peaceful afternoon together at Alex’s house, reflecting on the changes they’ve experienced during puberty, both physical and emotional. They share gentle snacks, comfort one another, and explore new ways of self-expression, including Maria’s art and Alex’s writing. Dr. Reed visits, bringing homemade muffins, and encourages the friends to write down questions for a future group discussion. The chapter closes with the friends feeling connected, reassured, and curious about what comes next.

Alex leaned closer, admiring the gentle lines. "You’re really good at showing feelings in your drawings," they said quietly.
Maria shrugged, a shy smile blooming. "Sometimes that’s easier than talking. I don’t always know which words to use for everything changing."
