Chapter 12
Farewell and Gratitude
With hearts full of gratitude and a precious cargo, Leo and Arthur bid farewell to Zylos and their new alien friends. They promise to share the gift of the healing flower with their own world.
The air hummed with a gentle, melodic vibration, a sound Leo had come to associate with the quiet wonder of this alien world. He stood beside his father, the small, glowing sample of the lumina bloom held carefully in a specially designed container. Beside them, Zylos, their alien guide, radiated a serene presence, their large, dark eyes reflecting the soft light of the alien sun. The farewells felt both deeply personal and vast, like saying goodbye to a star.
"We are so grateful, Zylos," Leo began, his voice a little thick with emotion. He clutched the container tighter. "For everything. The flower… it’s going to help so many people." He thought of his mom, a pang of longing sharp and familiar, but he pushed it aside, focusing on the hope this discovery represented.
Arthur placed a comforting hand on Leo’s shoulder. "Indeed, Zylos. Your generosity is beyond measure. We will ensure this gift is shared wisely and with the utmost care." He met Zylos’s gaze, a silent understanding passing between them. Arthur, the seasoned engineer who had once doubted his own capacity for grand adventures, now felt a profound sense of purpose, a feeling that transcended the mere mechanics of their journey. He saw in Leo’s bright eyes the future, a future he was helping to build, one star system at a time.
