The air in the cavern was cool and carried the scent of damp earth and something else, something ancient and resonant, like the hum of a forgotten song. Instead, it was a natural amphitheater carved deep into the heart of the mountain, its walls glistening with veins of what looked like solidified moonlight. At its center, a pool of water, impossibly still and black, reflected the faint light filtering from a fissure high above. But it was what hovered above the pool that truly held them captive.

A swirling vortex of pure, condensed starlight, shimmering with every color imaginable, pulsed with a rhythm that seemed to synchronize with their own heartbeats. Tendrils of light, like celestial roots, descended from the vortex, disappearing into the black water. It was a breathtaking, terrifying spectacle, a testament to the raw power that Elara had only ever felt in fleeting whispers from the night sky.
