The Shadow Weaver, not fully defeated, resurfaces, seeking to corrupt Elara's newfound power. The couple must uncover the antagonist's true identity and weaknesses.
The air in the Starfall Sanctuary, which had hummed with a newfound peace, now carried a tremor of unease. It was a subtle shift, like the faintest whisper of a storm on the horizon, or the prickle of dread that precedes a nightmare. Elara felt it first, a discordant note in the symphony of starlight that had become so familiar to her. Kaelen, ever attuned to her, looked up from the ancient texts he was poring over, his brow furrowed with concern.
"Do you feel that, Elara?" he asked, his voice a low murmur that barely disturbed the quiet reverence of the chamber.
Elara nodded, her gaze sweeping across the constellations etched into the sanctuary's domed ceiling. The starlight, usually so pure and unwavering, seemed to flicker, as if a veil had been drawn across its brilliance. "It's… a shadow," she breathed, the word tasting like ash on her tongue. "A familiar shadow."
