Chapter 12

The Spooky Spider's Web

The new clue from the graveyard is a riddle involving shimmering threads and a silent weaver. Captain Zoomie deduces it must be near the old abandoned barn, where a gigantic, ornate spider web, spun by a particularly large (and thankfully, harmless) garden spider, has become a local Spookyween legend. The web glistens eerily in the moonlight, looking like a trap. The puppies know they must carefully traverse this sticky obstacle to reach the next clue, which is suspended right in the center of the shimmering, intricate web, a test of their bravery and dexterity.

Dottie Baby Bears, meanwhile, was attempting to lick a stray cobweb from his ear, his attention momentarily diverted by the delicate strands. “Ooh, sticky!” he chirped, then sneezed violently, sending a flurry of dust into the air.
