A tremor, subtle at first, then a vibrant hum, pulsed through Elara’s veins. It was a sensation so alien, so exquisitely *hers*, that it stole her breath. For weeks, the magic had been a phantom limb, a tantalizing echo of what used to be, and now, it was undeniably present, a warm current flowing through her very core. She flexed her fingers, a nervous habit that had become second nature in her powerless state, and a faint shimmer, like heat rising from a summer road, flickered around her fingertips. Leo, ever observant, caught the subtle glow.

“Elara? Are you alright?” he asked, his voice laced with that familiar blend of concern and practicality. He nudged a loose stone with the toe of his boot, his gaze never quite leaving her.

Finn, his usual boundless energy momentarily dampened by the oppressive air of the Dragon Peaks, perked up at Leo’s question. “What is it? Did you feel that too?” His eyes, bright with a mixture of apprehension and excitement, darted between Elara and the jagged, imposing silhouette of the mountains ahead.
