The air in the Dragon Peaks was thin and sharp, biting at Elara’s lungs with every ragged breath. Each step on the treacherous scree was a victory, a testament to the renewed strength thrumming beneath her skin. Gone was the hollow ache, the frustrating void where her magic had once resided. In its place, a vibrant current, like a thousand tiny suns, danced within her veins. It was a sensation both exhilarating and terrifying, a constant whisper of what had been lost, and what, miraculously, had returned. Beside her, Leo’s practical stride was a steady anchor, his gaze sweeping the jagged horizon with a familiar, cautious vigilance. The journey had been fraught with minor perils – rockfalls that seemed to materialize out of nowhere, winds that howled with an almost sentient malice, and illusions that played upon their deepest fears. Leo’s sharp eyes had spotted a cleverly disguised pitfall, its edges camouflaged with an unnerving perfection, and Finn’s quick reflexes had pulled Elara back from a crumbling ledge just as it gave way. Each small triumph, each shared moment of vulnerability, wove their friendship tighter, a tapestry of trust and shared purpose.
