Chapter 13
Farewell to the Peaks
With the Sunstone secured and lessons learned, the trio bids farewell to the Dragon Peaks, their hearts lighter and their bond stronger.
The air in the Dragon Peaks, once sharp with the scent of ozone and ancient stone, now carried a softer fragrance – a hint of mountain wildflowers and the lingering warmth of the Sunstone. Elara felt it settle deep within her, a hum that resonated with the very core of her being. Beside her, Leo adjusted the satchel slung over his shoulder, its weight now considerably lighter without the burden of their quest’s initial anxieties. Finn, ever the picture of boundless energy, was already a few paces ahead, skipping over a loose scree with a grin that stretched from ear to ear.
“Can you believe it?” Finn called back, his voice echoing slightly against the sheer rock faces. “We actually did it! Elara, you were incredible! Truly, truly incredible!”

The Sunstone, safely nestled in a specially crafted pouch within Leo’s satchel, pulsed with a gentle, steady light, a beacon of hope that had been so desperately needed. The Elder Dragon, a creature of immense power and ancient wisdom, had, after much deliberation and a profound test of Elara’s character, bestowed upon them a sliver of its radiant energy. It wasn't the entire stone, nor its full, unbridled power, but a carefully measured portion, a gift that could rekindle the fading magic of their realm.
