It is a state of profound relaxation, a conscious descent into deep rest, where the physical body sleeps, but the mind remains aware, observant, and present.”
Mark shifted uncomfortably, his shoulders tight. *Conscious sleep?* The very idea seemed contradictory, an oxymoron for someone whose mind rarely shut off, even in the deepest hours of the night. He glanced around the room. A few other individuals sat or lay comfortably, eyes closed, their faces softened by an initial surrender. He felt a pang of envy.
