The ink on the page, once a dark, inscrutable stain, began to shimmer. It wasn't a trick of the gaslight, nor a flicker of my own weary eyes. It was a luminescence, subtle at first, then growing, pulsing with a rhythm I felt deep within my bones. I’d opened it again, not to the cryptic verses or the baffling diagrams, but to the final, unmarked page. The one I’d almost dismissed as a printer’s error, a blank space in the tapestry of forgotten lore. But as I stared at it now, under the solitary beam of my desk lamp, the ink began its slow, ethereal bloom.
