Visions in the Void

Seraphina's foresight grows more erratic. The creeping blight within her manifests as distorted visions, showing glimpses of betrayal and a malevolent entity feeding on Oakhaven's fear.

The air in my small attic room, usually a sanctuary of dust motes dancing in moonlight and the faint scent of dried herbs, felt thick and suffocating tonight. The crimson moon, a swollen, angry eye in the bruised velvet sky, pressed against the windowpane, its lurid glow seeping into the very marrow of my bones. It was a light that promised no solace, only the stark illumination of what was already broken.

My visions, usually as clear and sharp as shards of ice, had begun to fracture. They were no longer windows into the future, but shattered mirrors, each piece reflecting a distorted, terrifying fragment. The blight that had begun as a subtle whisper, a faint chill in my fingertips, was now a gnawing presence, a darkness coiling within me, twisting my sight into a grotesque mockery of truth.

I clutched my head, a low groan escaping my lips. The crimson light pulsed, and with it, a new vision flared, sharp and agonizing. I saw betrayal, a viper’s tongue flicking within our coven, a hand reaching out, not to help, but to seize. The face was obscured by shadow, but the intent was as clear as a scream. And then, a deeper darkness, a formless void that seemed to drink the very fear from the cobblestones of Oakhaven, its tendrils reaching, feeding, growing stronger with every tremor of unease that rippled through the town.
