Grumble, a solid, grounding presence, remained a step behind, his stony form radiating an unwavering quietude.

“It feels… wrong,” Elias murmured, his voice barely a whisper. He raised his staff, its familiar weight a comfort, but even the wood seemed to hum with a discordant energy. The ‘eyes of God’ were usually his clearest sense, a torrent of truth that cut through any falsehood. Yet here, within these twisting passages, the truth itself seemed to fracture, splintering into a thousand deceptive reflections. He saw not one path, but countless, each shimmering with a promise of escape, each laced with an unseen peril.

“Wrong is the only thing right about this place, Elias,” Lyra replied, her voice steady, a stark contrast to the swirling disorientation Elias felt. “The legends said it twists the mind, that it feeds on doubt. We just have to push through.”
