The river of stars had long since dissolved, its shimmering currents no longer a guide but a memory woven into the fabric of our being. Time, that relentless sculptor of our earthly days, had ceased its work. It was as if the very concept had been shed, a garment too constricting for the expanse we now inhabited. Elara, my Elara, her hand still clasped in mine, her touch a familiar anchor in this boundless sea, seemed to understand this shift more intuitively than I. Her eyes, usually filled with the gentle wisdom of countless years, now held a deeper, more profound luminescence, reflecting the cosmic tapestry that surrounded us. She turned to me, a soft smile gracing her lips, a smile that held the warmth of a thousand hearth fires and the serene peace of a starlit night.
