The world, once solid beneath my feet, now felt like shifting sand, each grain a memory, each tide a breath of something new. Kaelen, my Kaelen, his hand a warm, familiar weight in mine, understood. It was in the quiet hum that vibrated between our heartbeats, a song we’d known since the first dawn of our lives together, but now it was amplified, infused with a celestial resonance. We were elders, our bodies bearing the etchings of seasons passed, our spirits weathered but strong, like ancient trees whose roots delved deep into the earth’s embrace. Yet, a different kind of root was calling to us now, a celestial tether pulling us beyond the horizon of our known world.

The whispers, once faint as the rustle of dry leaves, had grown into a chorus, an insistent symphony woven from starlight and the sigh of the wind. They spoke of a journey, not of miles, but of dimensions, of a path that led not away from life, but into its very heart, a place where beginnings and endings blurred into an eternal now. Kaelen, ever my rock, felt it too, a tremor of doubt beneath his stoic calm. "Are we ready, Elara?" he’d asked, his voice a low rumble, the question hanging heavy in the twilight air. "To step into such vastness? Our lives have been lived here, under this sun, by this river. What if we are not strong enough?"
