Chapter 7
A Storm on the Horizon
A chilling message arrives: a threat looms over Eldoria. Border skirmishes escalate, and spies are rumored within the castle walls. Anya feels a surge of unease, not for herself, but for Kaelen and his people.
The air in Eldoria Castle had begun to feel lighter, a subtle shift from the oppressive weight I’d carried for so long. His gaze swept across the assembled lords and ladies, and for the first time, I saw a flicker of something akin to concern in his eyes, a tightening around his jaw. He spoke in a low, measured tone, but the words, when they reached me, felt like shards of ice.
