The air in the forgotten ruin had thinned, the oppressive weight that had pressed down on Dr. Alistair Finch and Clara Vance for what felt like an eternity finally receding. The ancient stone, still cool beneath their trembling hands, hummed with a residual energy, a faint echo of the power they had wrestled with. The seal, painstakingly reinforced with their sweat and a desperate kind of courage, now held firm. The prison, its purpose starkly, terrifyingly revealed, was once again secured.

Alistair sank back against a crumbling pillar, his breath coming in ragged gasps. The journal, its pages now brittle and whispering of a truth too profound to fully grasp, lay beside him, a silent testament to the ordeal. Clara, ever the pragmatist even in the face of the impossible, was already on her feet, dusting off her worn jacket. Her eyes, usually sharp and assessing, held a flicker of something Alistair hadn’t seen before – a deep, unsettling awe mixed with a weariness that mirrored his own. She was surveying their surroundings, her gaze sweeping over the moss-covered stones, the faint, almost imperceptible carvings that hinted at rituals long past.
