The cavernous Grand Hall of Solara, once a stage for pronouncements of war and the echoing pronouncements of ancient grudges, now pulsed with a different kind of energy. Sunlight, a familiar caress through the high, arched windows, seemed to gather and intensify, illuminating the faces of a thousand Solarians and a contingent of Lunarians, their shadowed forms stark against the golden light. The air, usually thick with the scent of polished marble and the faint perfume of the royal gardens, was now imbued with the tangible hum of anticipation, a melody woven from anxiety and hope.

At the dais, bathed in the most radiant of the sun’s blessings, stood Elara. Her gown, the color of a dawn sky, flowed around her like liquid light, each jewel sewn into its fabric catching the sun’s rays and scattering them like captured stars. Her crown, a delicate filigree of spun gold and sunstones, rested upon her unbound hair, which cascaded around her shoulders like a silken waterfall. Beside her, a figure carved from twilight and shadow, stood Kael. His tunic, the deep indigo of a star-strewn night, was offset by the silver embroidery that traced patterns reminiscent of celestial constellations. His presence, usually a quiet storm, was now a steady anchor, his dark eyes, pools of midnight, fixed on Elara.

The silence stretched, taut and expectant, broken only by the soft rustle of fabric and the shallow breaths of those gathered. King Theron, his face a mask of regal displeasure, stood a pace behind Elara, his jaw tight. Queen Lyra, her silver gown like a shroud, stood beside Kael, her gaze sharp and assessing, a viper coiled in the shadows. The fragile truce, forged in the crucible of near-annihilation, had held, but the chasm of centuries of animosity remained, a yawning maw threatening to swallow the tentative peace.
