They had found their way into the marketplaces, into the courtyards where children played, into the very breath of the people. Elara, her heart a drumbeat against her ribs, felt it most keenly. It was in the way strangers met her gaze, a flicker of recognition, a shared understanding that needed no words. It was in the way the rhythm of daily life, once a monotonous dirge, now pulsed with an undercurrent of anticipation.

One evening, as the sun bled hues of bruised plum and rose across the sky, Lysander found her by the old oak at the edge of the city, the place where they often met when the weight of their shared endeavor felt too heavy for solitary contemplation. He carried no satchel tonight, his hands empty, but his eyes were full, reflecting the sky and something more profound.

"They are singing your words, Elara," he said, his voice low but clear, carrying the same wonder that Elara herself felt. "In the Weaver's district, they sang 'The Unfurling Banner' as they worked. And the bakers in the East Quarter, they hummed 'Echoes in the Alleyways' as they kneaded their dough. It’s… it’s everywhere."
