Thea traced the intricate carvings on the heavy oak desk, the wood cool and smooth beneath her fingertips. Dust motes danced in the single shaft of sunlight that pierced the gloom of the library, illuminating the secrets held within the shadowed room. It sprang open with a soft sigh.
