Before her stood not a being of flesh and bone, but a presence, woven from the dappled sunlight and the scent of damp earth. It was the Forest Guardian, a spirit as old as the towering trees that surrounded them, its form shifting like mist caught in a gentle breeze. Elara felt no fear, only a profound sense of recognition, as if a long-lost melody had finally found its harmony within her soul.

"You have come, little one," the Guardian's voice resonated, not in her ears, but directly in her mind, a soft murmur like leaves rustling. "You hear the forest's heart, a rare gift."

Elara nodded, her own voice a fragile thread in the vastness. "The village… it suffers. The crops fail, the animals sicken. Elder Borin says it is a curse from the 'End of the World'."
