The workshop, usually a sanctuary of quiet industry, now held a different kind of silence. It was a silence that hummed, a pregnant pause before a storm, and Elara felt it prickle her skin. The spindle, nestled amongst her spools of vibrant yarn, seemed to pulse with a faint, unseen energy. It was this energy, she suspected, that was coaxing the new strangeness into her days.
