The air in the glade hummed with a soft, resonant light, unlike anything Leo had ever felt. It wasn't the sharp, bright gleam of the sun, nor the gentle glow of the moon. This light seemed to come from everywhere at once, seeping from the mossy ground, filtering through the impossibly tall trees, and even emanating from the very air itself. He had expected to find Maya and Sam in some forgotten nook, perhaps huddled together, frightened. He had not expected this.
