The world Jannah knew had been ripped asunder. Where once stood the sturdy timbers of her humble dwelling, only splintered wood and twisted metal remained, testament to the mountain’s fury. The air, usually crisp and alive with the scent of pine and damp earth, was now thick with the acrid smell of smoke and the metallic tang of fear. Every fallen tree, every overturned boulder, seemed to mock his efforts, each obstacle a cruel reminder of his own helplessness.

He stumbled through the wreckage of what had been their haven, his heart a leaden weight in his chest. The small clearing, once bathed in dappled sunlight, was now a scene of utter devastation. He saw the remnants of their makeshift shelter, a heartbreaking testament to their stolen peace. Then, he saw her.
