With her mentors, Elara studies the ancient maps and celestial charts, seeking clues to the origin of the coming darkness and how to counter it.

The chamber was vast and cool, carved from coral that shimmered with a faint, internal light, a gentle echo of the Lumina itself. Above us, where a ceiling should have been, was a swirling dome of darkness, but not an empty darkness. It was dotted with pinpricks of light, a celestial tapestry that mirrored the ocean floor far below, and the very stars that guided sailors on the surface. My mentors, the ancient ones, had gathered me here, their forms like living sculptures of wisdom and time. Elder Coralia, her shell a mosaic of forgotten ages, gestured with a delicate tentacle towards the dome.

"Look, Elara," her voice was a soft murmur, like waves lapping against a distant shore. "The ocean breathes the sky. And the sky remembers the ocean."

Beside her, Barnaclebeard, his beard a cascade of living, glowing moss, rumbled in agreement. "The Lumina is not just light, child. It is memory. And the stars above are its oldest kin."
