Lily surfaced, the last vestiges of the underwater garden shimmering behind her like a dream she was reluctant to let go of. The world above was painted in the soft hues of twilight, the sun a molten orb dipping below the horizon, casting long, dancing shadows across the now-gentle waves. She swam towards the shore, her limbs moving with an ease that felt both familiar and newly empowered. Each stroke carried with it the echo of the sea turtle’s wise words, the gentle pulse of the garden’s magic, and the dawning realization that had bloomed within her as she’d calmed the storm.
Back on the damp sand, she sat, letting the cool, wet grains cling to her skin. The salty air kissed her face, carrying the scent of seaweed and distant pine. The playful waves that had chased her earlier now lapped softly at her feet, like old friends offering a quiet greeting.
