Chapter 6
Chapter 6
After the shadow attack, Thorne leads Elara and Kael to a hidden grove but reveals he was the Shadow Weaver's apprentice, having bound her with a shard of his soul. The Shadow Weaver attacks again, wearing Kael's dead sister's face. Elara repels it using the book, but the warding stone fails. They must flee, with the new moon approaching, as Thorne's shard weakens and Elara's use of the book gives the enemy a stronger foothold.

Thorne nodded slowly. “There is a place. A grove I sealed long ago, hidden deeper in the Veilwood. It will hold her at bay, at least for a night.” He paused, his hand brushing the crystal shard at his chest. “But we must move quickly.”
