The Weight of a Promise
Elara emerges from the artifact chamber with the sphere and a map left by Thorne. She reunites with Kael, and they share a vulnerable moment, affirming their bond. As they climb toward the convergence point, they enter a chamber with a black pillar, and the Shadow Weaver appears, revealing this chamber is the convergence point and the merging has begun.
Elara lay on the moss, the sphere's soft glow washing over her. Her chest heaved, each breath a battle. The memory she had lost was a hollow space in her mind, a darkness she couldn't fill. She pushed herself up, her arms trembling. The sphere hovered at eye level, pulsing gently, as if waiting.
She reached out and took it. It was warm, familiar now, like an extension of her own heartbeat. The roots had retreated, the cavern silent except for the drip of water somewhere in the dark. The Shadow Weaver was gone, but its words clung to her like frost.
The convergence will happen with or without the artifact.
