The air in Nervel tasted like old pennies and ozone. Not the clean, sharp scent of a coming storm, but the stale, metallic tang of something festering. It clung to the back of my throat, a constant reminder of the unease that had settled over the city like a shroud. The Weaver. It was a stark contrast to the wild, unpredictable energy that often surged through me, especially when I thought of Anya.
