Chapter 10
A City's Unspoken Fears
The Weaver's influence grows, amplifying the city's collective anxieties. Abstracts become more frequent and powerful, pushing Nervel closer to the brink.
The air in Nervel felt thick, not with the usual city grit and exhaust, but with something heavier, something that settled in your chest and made each breath a conscious effort. It was the taste of fear, a metallic tang that had been creeping into the atmosphere for weeks, and now, it was practically a storm. A colossal abstract, a writhing mass of obsidian ink with too many eyes, pulsed in the center of the plaza. It wasn't just one abstract; it was a swarm, a living, breathing embodiment of the city's escalating dread. Local ink warriors, brave souls all, were being tossed around like dolls, their ink attacks glancing off the creature’s amorphous form. Their cries of pain were swallowed by the monstrous roar that emanated from the beast.
