A crucial recording session for a new demo turns tense. Lyric insists on experimenting with a Latin-rock fusion, leading to a heated argument with his band.
The air in the recording studio was thick enough to chew, a potent cocktail of stale pizza, nervous sweat, and the lingering scent of vintage amp tubes. Lyric, perched on a stool like a king surveying his slightly less regal kingdom, tapped a restless rhythm on his thigh. The demo session. Big deal. This was it, the chance to lay down some tracks that screamed *Crimson Reign The Legacy*, not just a faded echo of Velvet Venom. He’d even managed to drag the band, Jax, Bruno, and Mason, into this cave of sonic creation without too much grumbling.
“Alright, fellas,” Lyric announced, his voice a little too loud, a little too eager. “Let’s nail this. We’re going for raw, we’re going for power, we’re going for… something new.” He shot a sideways glance at Mason, whose perpetually unimpressed expression was already firmly in place.
Jax, a whirlwind of nervous energy even when stationary, bounced on the balls of his feet behind the drum kit. “New sounds better when it sounds like *us*, Lyric. You know, the stuff that blows the roof off.”
