Chapter 8
Born of Fear
Destiny confronts her first manifested nightmare: a creature born from primal fear. She must fight it, not just with strength, but with understanding.

This was not the same oppressive gloom of the shadowed kingdom, nor the echoing emptiness of the Whispering Maze. This was a primal, visceral terror, a fear that predated thought, that burrowed into the very marrow of her bones.

It was a sound that bypassed reason and spoke directly to a buried instinct, a warning screamed from the deepest recesses of her being. She stopped, her heart hammering a frantic rhythm against her ribs. The path ahead, a narrow ledge carved into the sheer, obsidian walls of the chasm, widened into a small, uneven clearing. And there, bathed in the sickly green luminescence that pulsed from unseen sources in the rock, was the source of the sound.
