Silas was defeated, his ambition to freeze their world into a rigid, unyielding form thwarted. Yet, the victory felt less like a triumphant bell and more like a gentle exhale.

Elder Maeve met her not in the council chambers, but on a quiet overlook, where the city’s luminescence cascaded like a gentle waterfall into the twilight. The air was cool, carrying the faint scent of ozone and something akin to memory. Maeve’s gaze, usually sharp and assessing, was soft, filled with a profound understanding.

“You have returned, Pathfinder,” Maeve said, her voice a low murmur. “And you carry more than just the artifact.”
