The air in the Obsidian Maw tasted like forgotten dreams, a stark contrast to the vibrant hum of Elara’s home. Here, the luminous blocks, usually so eager to rearrange themselves into breathtaking landscapes, were sluggish, their light a dull, bruised purple. She tread carefully, each step a deliberate placement of her boot on the cool, smooth surface. Lumin, a shimmering cascade of aquamarine and silver light, flowed beside her, its form rippling like water.

"He calls it order," Lumin’s voice, a gentle chime that resonated not in her ears but deep within her mind, echoed through the oppressive quiet. "He believes this… stillness… is salvation."

Elara’s brows furrowed. "Stillness? But the shifting is what makes our world alive. It's how we adapt, how we grow." She gestured to a block nearby, which pulsed with a weak, unsteady glow. "Look at this. It’s barely holding its form. Silas wants to stop this? He wants to freeze it?"
