The others moved ahead in a loose formation, their silence a shared agreement to avoid the jagged edges of what had been said around the campfire.

Trinity kept her eyes forward, her shoulders stiff. Ryan walked beside Justin, neither speaking, both pretending to study the canopy above. Kheta and Mike flanked the path, their gazes fixed on the ground as if searching for answers in the dirt.
