Chapter 6
Mirrors in the Mist
Through encounters with nature's quiet wisdom, Joshe sees reflections of herself. The ethereal beings she meets encourage her to embrace her own light, to trust the whispers of her heart.
The mist, a silken shroud, clung to the ancient trees, muffling the world into a hushed reverence. Each breath I drew was cool and tasted of damp earth and secrets. The path ahead, barely visible, wound like a silver ribbon through the emerald gloom, and with every step, I felt a subtle shift, as if the very air was breathing with me. The gentle trials of the previous days had smoothed the rough edges of my resolve, leaving me open, receptive. I was no longer the girl who had clutched the map with trembling hands, but someone who walked with a quiet purpose, guided by an unseen hand.

I found myself pausing often, not from weariness, but from a profound sense of awe. The rustling of leaves, the distant call of a bird, the gentle murmur of a hidden stream – each sound was a melody, a language I was slowly beginning to understand.
It was near a pool, its surface as still and dark as polished obsidian, that I first heard it. A voice, soft as the sigh of the wind through pine needles, yet clear as a silver bell. It seemed to emanate from the very air around me, weaving itself into the fabric of the mist.
