The air grew softer, carrying the faint scent of dewdrops and forgotten lullabies. Aria, with Lumie nestled gently in her cupped hands, felt a shift in the world around them. The path, once clearly defined by the Glimmering Glow-worm’s steady beam, now seemed to dissolve into a shimmering mist. The Whisperwind Sprite flitted ahead, a playful blur of colour, its laughter like tiny bells chiming in the distance. Lumie pulsed with a faint, hopeful light, its little body vibrating with anticipation.

“We’re close, Aria,” Lumie whispered, its voice a fragile thread of starlight. “So close.”

The mist swirled, parting like a curtain to reveal a sight that stole Aria’s breath. It wasn’t a garden of vibrant blooms and sparkling fountains as she might have imagined. Instead, it was a place of hushed quietude, bathed in a soft, pearly light that seemed to emanate from the very ground. Tall, slender stalks stood like delicate sculptures, their petals unfurled but limp, their colours muted, as if they had forgotten how to shine. These were the star-flowers, the heart of the Star Garden, and they drooped with a quiet sadness.
