“Give it back, Flicker!” Leo’s voice, usually a boisterous challenge, was firm, laced with an authority he hadn’t known he possessed. His fists, which had so often been clenched in frustration or anticipation of a race, were now relaxed, his stance grounded. He felt a strange calm settle over him, a feeling that Luna’s presence beside him was not a challenge, but a shield.

Luna, her eyes wide with a mixture of concern for the Sunstone and a quiet determination, echoed her brother. “You can’t keep it. It belongs to our home.” Her voice, though softer than Leo’s, carried an unwavering resolve. She could feel the ancient pulse of the stone, a whisper of protection for their family, and it resonated deep within her. The whispers in the wind, the moving objects – they had all been attempts to disrupt this delicate balance, and Flicker was at the heart of it.
