Leo’s feet pounded the earth, a blur against the dappled sunlight filtering through the ancient trees. He was a streak of lightning, a whirlwind of pure, unadulterated speed, chasing the glint of Flicker’s tail disappearing behind a moss-covered boulder. “Almost got him!” he puffed, his voice echoing through the hushed forest. He could feel the thrill of the chase, the familiar surge of adrenaline that always accompanied his efforts to be the fastest, the best. But today, it was more than just a race. Leo skidded to a halt, his momentum carrying him a few extra steps before he dug his heels in. He glared back at Luna, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face. “Leading me where? Why did she always have to slow him down with her observations and her stories?
