A quick, shadowy creature named Flicker appears, drawn to a shimmering artifact. This magical item is vital for their home's safety. Flicker attempts to snatch it, causing chaos.
The afternoon sun, usually a cheerful splash of gold across their cozy cottage, now seemed to cast long, nervous shadows. Leo and Luna, their usual boisterous energy muted, huddled near the hearth. The air itself felt thick with an unseen tension, a feeling that had been building since the day before. It had started with small things, easily dismissed as pranks or forgetfulness. Leo’s favorite wooden soldier, always perched on the mantelpiece, had been found on the kitchen counter. Luna’s carefully arranged collection of colourful stones had been scattered across her bedroom floor.
“It was you, wasn’t it?” Leo accused, his voice a low growl. He pointed a finger, not quite at Luna, but in her general direction. “You always move my things when I’m not looking, trying to make me mess up my games.”
Luna’s eyes flashed, her usual gentle expression hardening. “And you’re the one who likes to hide my treasures! You probably thought it was funny to make my stones roll away.”
