As Leo and Luna reach for the artifact together, it glows brightly. A surge of warmth flows between them, confirming the power of their connection and the legend's truth.
The air crackled with a strange energy, thick and humming like a thousand bees trapped in a jar. Leo and Luna stood before the pedestal, their breaths catching in their throats. The artifact, nestled in its velvet cushion, pulsed with a soft, inner light, a beacon in the dim, forgotten chamber. It was smaller than they expected, a smooth, egg-shaped stone, its surface swirling with colours that shifted like oil on water.
“It’s… real,” Luna whispered, her eyes wide with a mixture of awe and a touch of trepidation. She reached out a tentative finger, her gaze locked on the mesmerizing glow.
Leo, usually the first to scoff at anything that wasn't a race or a challenge, felt a tremor of something akin to reverence. He watched Luna, her thoughtful nature always finding the wonder in things he often overlooked. He saw the way her fingers trembled slightly, the way her lips parted in silent amazement.
