Chapter 9
The Archives of Ages
Kael leads Elara to a hidden archive containing scrolls detailing an ancient war. They learn the Resonator was forged to combat a similar darkness, a weapon of creation against a force of destruction.
The air in the cavern was thick with the scent of dry parchment and forgotten dust, a perfume that spoke of ages long past. Kael, his fingers tracing the rough-hewn stone of the entrance, turned to Elara with a gentle smile that did little to hide the solemnity in his eyes. "This is it, Elara. The Archives of Ages. It was a sanctuary of knowledge, a silent testament to the countless lives that had come before.
"It's… breathtaking," Elara whispered, her voice barely disturbing the profound stillness. She ran a hand over the cool, smooth surface of a nearby shelf, feeling the faint vibration of contained histories. The Resonator, nestled in its case at her side, seemed to hum in response, a low, resonant thrum that vibrated through her bones.
