Before her, where the Nexus of Harmony had once pulsed with iridescent light, now swirled a maelstrom of inky blackness, shot through with jagged veins of sickly violet. This was the heart of the unraveling, the source of the dissonant shriek that had begun to tear at the fabric of existence. And at its center, coalescing from the very absence of sound, was the Shadow Weaver.
It was not a creature of flesh and blood, but a void given form. A vortex of pure negation, it pulsed with a chilling silence that threatened to swallow all light, all music, all life. Yet, within that terrifying emptiness, Elara sensed a twisted echo, a corrupted resonance that spoke of a power that was once, perhaps, something akin to her own.
Beside her, Kael stood rigid, his face a mask of grim determination. His fingers, usually so steady when poring over ancient texts, now clenched and unclenched at his sides. “This is it, Elara,” he murmured, his voice strained. “The culmination of everything. The Shadow Weaver.”
