Chapter 10
The Weaver's Lament
Elara discovers the Shadow Weaver's origins are intertwined with the very creation of the Resonator, perhaps a failed attempt at harmony or a being born from the war's aftermath.
The air in the Archives of Ages hummed with a sorrowful resonance, a stark contrast to the usual hushed reverence of the place. Dust motes, usually dancing in sunbeams, seemed to hang heavy, weighed down by the revelations that had unfurled before Elara. Kael, his brow furrowed deeper than the ancient script he’d been poring over, sat beside her, his usual academic composure frayed at the edges. Kael sighed, the sound a quiet exhalation of weariness. “No, Elara. It’s… it was once something else. Or perhaps, something that *should* have been.” He pointed to a faded inscription, almost lost to the ravages of time. “These texts speak of the Great Harmony, a primordial state of existence. When the world was being woven, there were… attempts. Attempts to imbue it with perfect balance, perfect resonance.”
