Chapter 12
Elara's Greenhouse Gambit
Isolde pays a visit to Elara's greenhouse. She observes Elara's advanced, almost suspiciously potent, plant experiments and her smug demeanor.

Her floral gown seemed to mimic the very plants around us, a symphony of greens and purples that somehow managed to look both elegant and slightly predatory. “To what do I owe the honour? I confess, I thought our professional paths had diverged, at least until the next horticultural exhibition.”
