Chapter 15

The Dawn's Gentle Touch

The ethereal glow of the moon begins to recede as the first faint blush of dawn paints the eastern horizon. The moon's enchanting song fades completely, replaced by the cheerful chirping of waking birds and the gentle rustling of leaves. The pups, their eyes heavy with sleep but their hearts full of wonder, yawn and stretch. The magic of the night has filled them with a deep sense of contentment, and now, tired but happy, they are ready to greet the new day, carrying the moon's lullaby within their dreams.

The world was painted in hushed tones of pearl and silver. The moon, a benevolent eye in the velvet sky, had sung her lullaby, and now, slowly, shyly, the very edge of the horizon began to blush. A whisper of rose and lavender bloomed where the inky darkness met the world, a gentle unfolding that promised a new day. The pups, nestled close together in their den, felt the magic of the moon's song begin to ebb. He yawned, a wide, pink cavern revealing tiny, sharp teeth, and stretched his front paws out, his claws briefly unsheathing and retracting into the soft earth of the den. The moon’s song had been a new kind of wonder, a song that filled his belly with warmth even without fish. He dreamt of leaping through fields of moonbeams, his playful spirit untamed and free.
