Chapter 8
The Moon's Gentle Return
The soft light grows, slowly at first, then with increasing confidence. The Moon's glow begins to fill the night sky once more, chasing away the deepest shadows.
The darkness, once a velvet cloak woven with silver threads of moonlight, had become a heavy, suffocating blanket. I, a mere speck of starlight, felt it pressing down, mirroring the unease that had begun to flicker within my own tiny core. My own light, usually a steady, unwavering pulse, felt fragile, as if the Moon’s fading glow had leached some of my own brilliance. A strange emptiness, a hollow echo of her dimming, resonated within me. It was more than just observation; it was a deep, unsettling kinship. Her light, I realized then, was not just a distant beacon, but a reflection, a part of the very tapestry that held me. If she faltered, so did the night, and in a way I couldn’t yet articulate, so did I.
