Chapter 6
Forest of Illusions
Their path leads through an enchanted forest filled with deceptive creatures. Elara's nascent lunar magic helps them navigate the illusions, but Kael's cynicism grows.
The canopy of the Whispering Woods pressed in, a dense, suffocating blanket of emerald and umber. Sunlight, once a cheerful companion, now fractured into slivers, painting the forest floor with an unsettling, shifting mosaic. Elara clutched Kael’s worn leather tunic, her knuckles white. Every rustle of leaves, every snap of a twig, sent a tremor through her small frame. His hand rested on the hilt of his sword, his eyes, usually sharp and observant, were narrowed, scanning the dense undergrowth with a wariness that went beyond mere caution. He seemed to sense the disquiet as keenly as she did.
